The nursery was founded by Harry and Ank Schrama in 1968. Three years later they started all over again on a new business plot in the Flevopolder with a focus on the production of fruit, fruittrees and rootstocks. They slowly added other activities. In the nineties the childeren started working for the company as well.
Schrama Nurseries produces rootstocks and grows a variety of fruittrees for professional use and for retail. The nursery also contains a laboratory for the multiplication of plants by tissue culture.
We are constantly busy with Research & Development to create new rootstocks and types of fruit. Also we are currently working on innovative concepts for the consumer market.
Nothing is impossible. A fruittree is full grown in 6 weeks instead of 2 years.
OOur rootstocks are grown on virgin soil of the new polders. With a self designed system we sort the rootstocks based on length.
We develop new types of fruit for professional use and for retail.
We use a part of our nursery as a laboratory where we multiply plants under sterile conditions.

Schrama started a nursery in Italy with Walter Malleier (1990-2000) and several years in Portugal (1998-2002).
Digging and planting fruittrees gets merely done mechanized, mostly with machines that are designed by ourselves.
Expansion of the glass houses and pots fields. After fifteen years of tissue culture we started with multiplication in our own lab.
